Wet start to the week across Newfoundland
Monday and Tuesday will be very wet across Newfoundland. Much of the island is in the 5 to 15 mm range, with some areas reaching roughly 15 to 25 mm. Toward the southeastern Avalon, approximately 30 to 50+ mm could fall. A band of enhanced precipitation extends through parts of the south coast, with some localized 20 to 40 mm amounts. Precipitation is generally lighter across Western Newfoundland, although parts of the southwest and west coast show areas around 10 to 20 mm.

Rain expected for many areas today
There is a chance of showers across eastern and central Newfoundland this morning. Along the west coast, rain is expected to continue with 2 mm expected along the southwest coast, 5 mm in Corner Brook and 5 to 10 mm in Port Saunders. Expect highs from 13 to 19. Across western and central Labrador, rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 mm are expected. Nain will receive 5 mm of rain. Highs from 7 to 15 are expected.

Rain expected for most of the province today
Across the West Coast and Great Northern Peninsula, rain will begin this afternoon. 5 to 10 mm is expected from Port Saunders to Corner Brook. The Port aux Basques area will receive 15 to 25 mm of rain. There is a chance of late-day showers in central Newfoundland. 2 mm of rain is expected on the Burin Peninsula, while St. John's is looking at a mix of sun and cloud.
