After a stormy and wet Wednesday, much of Newfoundland is expected to see improving weather today, with sunshine returning to many areas and temperatures climbing into the low to mid-20s. Rain, thunderstorm risk continues across eastern Newfoundland tonight; clearing spreads westward
Showers, heavy rain and the risk of thunderstorms are expected tonight across parts of eastern and central Newfoundland, while improving conditions spread across western sections of the Island. The wettest conditions are expected across the Avalon Peninsula this evening, where rain and embedded thunderstorms will persist before tapering off near or shortly after midnight. Rain, thunderstorms and heavy rain across Newfoundland and Labrador Wednesday
We can expect a mixed bag of weather today, with showers, thunderstorms and areas of heavy rain developing in several regions. The heaviest rainfall is expected across the Burin Peninsula, where totals of 20 to 30 mm are forecast around the Marystown area.
