Significant snowfall, ice pellets and freezing rain are expected across Newfoundland. Parts of eastern and central Newfoundland will see a variety of weather from Tuesday evening until Thursday morning. Wet and warm on Monday
On Monday, spotty showers will move from west to east through the morning, with rainfall amounts generally between 2 and 4 mm. Higher totals up to 10 mm are possible along the southwest coast. Some forest access roads in central NL to close during the spring thaw
Starting on Tuesday, several forest access roads in the Point Leamington, Botwood, Lewisporte, Glenwood, Birchy Bay, Gander Bay, Gambo and Glovertown areas of Central Newfoundland will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic until further notice. Signage will be posted at gates leading to closed roads. The closures are required at this time of year to protect forest access roads from damage during the spring thaw period.
