On the Avalon, rain will begin this afternoon with fog; rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 mm are expected. Some drizzle is expected across the Burin Peninsula. Elsewhere in Newfoundland, it will be fair. Highs from 15 to 24 are expected. There is a chance of showers across western and southern Labrador. In the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area, showers will end near noon, then it will be mainly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and a risk of a thunderstorm late in the afternoon.

A province-wide fire ban has been put in place across Newfoundland and Labrador due to elevated wildfire risk and ongoing wildfire activity in Labrador. The Provincial Government announced that the ban took effect immediately and will remain in place until July 17, 2026.
