Province-Wide Fire Ban to End at Midnight Tonight
The provincial government has announced that the province-wide fire ban put in place on July 8 will be lifted at midnight tonight, allowing outdoor fires to resume across Newfoundland and Labrador beginning at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Residents are being reminded that forest fire season remains in effect throughout the province and that caution should continue to be exercised when having any outdoor fire. Showers for many areas today
In Newfoundland, there is a chance of showers on the west coast and Northern Peninsula, as well as the Avalon. 2 to 4 mm of rain is expected in central. Highs will be from 16 to 20. Across Labrador, expect showers with 2 to 4 mm expected. Highs from 12 to 17 are expected.

Sunshine Returns to Much of Newfoundland Thursday as Conditions Improve
After a stormy and wet Wednesday, much of Newfoundland is expected to see improving weather today, with sunshine returning to many areas and temperatures climbing into the low to mid-20s. Labrador, however, will remain cooler and unsettled with widespread showers.
