Eastern Canada bracing for next storm

An area of low pressure currently over northwestern Ontario will bring unsettled weather to eastern Canada now through Friday.

Ontario
Snow is expected across southern and central Ontario today. For southern areas, outside snow squalls, 2 to 5 cm are expected. For central areas including the National Capital Region, snowfall amounts of 10 cm are expected.

Quebec
From this afternoon to Thursday morning, 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected for the Mauricie and Charlevoix regions as well as the northern Quebec City region. 10 to 20 cm of snow will fall over the Lower St. Lawrence and the Gaspé Peninsula. From Thursday afternoon to Friday afternoon, 15 to 25 cm is expected over the Lower North Shore.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 centimetres are expected from Thursday morning to Thursday evening for southeastern areas along the New Brunswick border.

New Brunswick
Northern New Brunswick will see 15 to 25 cm of snow from Wednesday evening until Thursday afternoon. Strong winds are expected.

Prince Edward Island
Precipitation will start as snow on Thursday before changing to rain. Rain will continue until early on Friday morning. Strong winds are expected.

Nova Scotia 
Rain will start on Thursday and continue until early on Friday morning. Cape Breton Island may see more in the way of snow. Strong winds are also expected with gusts to 90 km/h expected across Cape Breton Island Thursday afternoon and evening.

Newfoundland and Labrador
Snow is expected along the west coast Thursday night. The snow is expected to change to rain on Friday morning and spread across the remainder of the Island. This system will bring strong winds to the Island. Snow will start in Labrador Thursday night and linger in some capacity until Saturday.
